LE PÉDALIER is a small independent outdoor shop located in the Magdalen Islands (Quebec) Canada. We rent bicycles and we have a full-service bike shop. We carry Rocky Mountain, Devinci, Specialized, Norco, Minelli and Miele bike brands. We offer the Islands’ largest selection of clothing and shoes, for sport, travelling and everyday life for the whole family. We also sell camping and outdoor equipment. We gear you up for adventure in all season no matter the weather!

The store is opened year-round (with variable hours depending on the season). Our team includes 2 mechanics/salesmen and 6 salespersons (3 full-time / 3 part-time).

Cycling is a wonderful way to visit the Magdalen Islands, especially if the wind is blowing in the right direction. You can expect windy conditions most of the time with prevailing southwest winds during summer. Take great care in considering the wind factor while planning your outings since a short distance can turn out to be challenging. The level of difficulty increases upwind or sidewind and it could be dangerous in strong gusts. Whether you opt for a hybrid bike (touring bike with straight handlebar), a race bike, a mountain bike or a fatbike, your choices and options of courses/trails will be different. In fact, for us, these are different sports. Our team will be more than happy to provide you with maps, tips, information and our favorites.

The CTMA Group’s Cruise & Bike Package (www.croisieresctma.ca) [aboard CTMA Vacancier, departing from Montreal, June to September] offers a 3-days self-guided bike tour of the Islands. As a partner of CTMA, we welcome the cyclists onboard and we do our best to make their stay enjoyable providing daily orientation sessions and mechanical assistance, and most important of all, making itinerary adjustments according to the wind direction.

Islanders and visitors who have cycled to the rhythm of the Islands and have experienced the wind can purchase our popular cycling jerseys LE PÉDALIER with « J’ai conquis le vent des Iles” (I conquered the wind of the Islands) or « Au rythme des Îles” (The rhythm of the Islands) in the back.
